Passover: Remembering God’s Mighty Hand, Proclaiming Redemption, and Teaching the Next Generation

April 1, 2026

As Passover begins on April 1, 2026, believers are invited into one of the most sacred rhythms of Scripture—a holy remembrance of God’s power, faithfulness, and redemptive plan. Passover is not simply an ancient observance; it is a living testimony of who God is and how He works in the lives of His people.

From the book of Exodus to the teachings of Christ, Passover stands as a cornerstone of biblical history. It is a story marked by obedience, sacrifice, deliverance, and hope—a story God commanded His people to remember and to teach diligently to their children.

The First Passover: A Night That Changed History

The origins of Passover are found in Exodus 12, during one of the darkest seasons Israel ever faced. God’s people were enslaved in Egypt, burdened by oppression, crying out for deliverance. God heard their cries and raised up Moses as a deliverer. Through signs and wonders, God demonstrated His sovereignty—not only over Pharaoh, but over all creation.

On the night of the first Passover, God instructed each household to sacrifice a spotless lamb and apply its blood to the doorposts of their homes. The blood was a sign of obedience and faith. When the angel of death passed through Egypt, it would pass over every home marked by the blood.

This was not just an act of protection—it was an act of trust. God’s people had to believe His word and act upon it. Salvation came through obedience, sacrifice, and faith in God’s promise.

That night, bondage was broken. Chains fell. Freedom began.

God’s Command: Remember and Teach

Passover was never meant to be remembered once and forgotten. God commanded His people to observe it every year and to tell the story to their children:

“And when your children say to you, ‘What do you mean by this service?’ you shall say, ‘It is the sacrifice of the Lord’s Passover…’” (Exodus 12:26–27)

God understood something deeply important: faith is sustained through remembrance. When stories are not told, truth fades. When remembrance stops, faith weakens. Passover ensured that every generation would know where they came from and Who delivered them.

This command still speaks powerfully today.

Passover and the Fulfillment in Christ

For Christian believers, Passover carries profound meaning beyond the Exodus. It points directly to Jesus Christ, the ultimate Passover Lamb.

Jesus celebrated Passover with His disciples on the night before His crucifixion. During that meal, He revealed the fulfillment of what Passover had been pointing to all along. The lamb without blemish. The blood that saves. The deliverance from bondage—not just physical slavery, but slavery to sin.

“Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.” (1 Corinthians 5:7)

Just as the Israelites were saved by the blood on the doorposts, believers today are redeemed by the blood of Christ. Passover reminds us that redemption has always been part of God’s plan.

A Devotional Call to the Heart

Passover invites us to pause and reflect:

• What has God delivered us from?

• Where has His hand protected our homes and families?

• How has His faithfulness sustained us through hardship?

It is a season to remember that freedom is never accidental—it is God-ordained. It is a time to examine our obedience, renew our gratitude, and place our trust once again in the Lord who saves.

Passover calls us back to humility, reverence, and awe.

Faith at Home: Living the Story Daily

For Christian families and homeschool households, Passover offers a beautiful reminder that faith is taught best at home. Around tables. Through conversation. By retelling the works of God.

Children who grow up hearing these stories learn that God is not distant or abstract—He is personal, active, and faithful. They learn that obedience matters. They learn that God keeps His promises. They learn that faith is something we live out daily.

Passover is not just history—it is discipleship.

Why Christian Stories Still Matter

In a world filled with noise and distraction, faith-centered stories are more important than ever. Books, devotionals, and educational resources grounded in Scripture help anchor families in truth.

They preserve history. They pass on belief. They disciple hearts.

God has always used written words to shape His people—from the tablets of stone to the scrolls of Scripture, from letters of encouragement to testimonies of faith.

Stories are one of God’s greatest teaching tools.

A Call to Christian Authors and Educators

At Graph Publishing LLC, we believe God still calls writers to tell stories that matter. Passover reminds us that faith must be remembered, recorded, and passed on intentionally.

If God has placed a message on your heart—

• A devotional for families or homeschool parents

• A children’s book rooted in biblical truth

• An educational resource centered on Christian values

• A testimony of God’s deliverance in your life

Your story may be the one that strengthens a family, encourages a struggling believer, or teaches a child the faithfulness of God.

Just as the story of Passover has been told for thousands of years, your story can be part of God’s ongoing work in this generation.

Passing the Faith Forward

This Passover, may we do more than remember.

May we teach.

May we write.

May we share.

May our homes be places where God’s works are spoken of freely and faith is nurtured daily. And may we never forget the price of our redemption—or the faithfulness of the God who saves.

From all of us at Graph Publishing LLC, we wish you a meaningful and reflective Passover.

Remember the story.

Live the faith.

Pass it on.
